Project overview: This master plan for a planned community development in Sonoma, Ca takes 2.8 acres of vacant land and turns it into 28 units of workforce house. The intent is to enrich the fabric of the neighborhood with a design reflecting sustainability, affordability, interaction, street life, native gardens & a mix of neighborhood amenities. The interior courtyards provide a defensible space removed from vehicular circulation. The result is a central gathering space that includes a playground, waling trails & a multi-use clubhouse. The central courtyard provides a safe public space for tenants to gather, interact, play, sit, read and just be. I collaborated with Jerry Kler Architects on this project from the initial design leading up to project approval.
